don't moisturize just before- leave it a few hours so it absorbs properly. Otherwise it will act as a barrier and the tan wont work properly and will probably end up patchy- not a good look!!Do you cleanse tone and moisturize before fake tanning?
You should exfoliate for sure. Then ensure your moisturizing a lot to help keep the tan as long as you can.
I would recommend exfoliating so you've removed any dead skin cells, but do mot cleanse or moisturise with your normal stuff as the products you have may contain ingredients that act as a barrier, this means your tan will not develop properly. only use a moisturiser that is meant for self tanning, you should mix same quantities of a moisturiser and tanning product when tanning the face as a self tan by itself will often be too much colour for the face
