Cleansing the stench from a vaccuum...?

Here's the situation (and laugh it up if you'd like):


--I have my Grandmother here, who had just spent the night...and she had wet bed...MINE, in general. And many of us know that old people stink (no offense to those currently reading). My brother was supposed to take care of my bed, but he had decided to vacuum the bed's wet spot. The linen's dry, but now the vacuum reeks...and since we're trying to use it, everyone in the house--grandma aside--is suffering.





---Does anyone know how to permanently rid a vacuum of such a rank stench?! Please answer quickly---my brother's resorting to using coffee creamer as a carpet deodorizer....-_-Cleansing the stench from a vaccuum...?
you should try putting some baking soda in the vacuum bag as it will help absorb the odour. you can also put some essential oils on the vacuum's filter as it will make the house smell lovely when you are vacuuming. I hope this helpsCleansing the stench from a vaccuum...?
The company I used to work for sold a product they called Clean Sweep, that was nothing more than perfumed kitty litter or oil dry. You can make your own by simply buying a package of either product and sprinkling your favorite odorant on to it. Then spread an amount of it, commensurate with how badly the vacuum smells, on the rug and sweep it up. Once inside the vac, the odor is dispersed by the action of the air flowing over the materials, as you've experienced already. If the perfume, cologne idea doesn't help enough, then try spraying some Febreze on it and that may work better. The first thing you should do, of course, if you haven't already, is to change the bag. If you do use baking soda, use it sparingly. Powder that fine will plug the pores of any bag, (or filter on a bagless unit), and could result in overheating the motor from lack of air flow. Hope this helps.
The actual fresh coffee grounds not creamer works great. Dry of course
Get some Urine Gone at the pet store, drug store, or hardware store. Spray the inside of the vacuum and anything else where the odor remains.
Generally, baking soda will absorb such odors.....Sprinkle baking soda on the floor and vacume it up. DO this 2-3 times, while emptying the container/bag in between. This should help :)
If you have a bagless vaccum try washing the container. If your vaccum has a bag change it immediately. Throw down some baking soda in the bag and on the floor and vaccum. Change the bag again. Hopefully this will work for you. Add a bounce sheet to your new bag to keep it smelling fresh!!
