I want to go on a colon cleanse. any suggestions?

what should I do on one. what should I take. Are there vegan ways to do this? how long will it take- by that I mean how long will I have to be near a bathroom?I want to go on a colon cleanse. any suggestions?
Don't do it. It's scam quackery. Your colon is clean.

From Wiki:

';No scientific evidence supports the alleged benefits of colon cleansing. The bowel itself is not dirty and barring drugs or disease, cleans itself naturally without need for assistance.

Certain enema preparations have been associated with heart attacks and electrolyte imbalances. Frequent colon cleansing may interfere with the proper functioning of the colon and can lead to dependence on laxatives or enemas to defecate. Some herbs used may also interact with or reduce the effectiveness of prescription drugs.

Colon cleansing is not necessary as the body naturally removes waste material. Colon cleansing may disrupt the balance between bacteria and natural chemicals in the bowel, and may interfere with the colon's ability to shed dead cells.';

Why put yourself through this dangerous, unnatural and unnecessary procedure?

Some quotes:

';It's an irrational concept, yet an intriguing idea, that modern life so fills us with poisons from polluted air and food additives that we need to be periodically ';cleaned out'; (';detoxified';). Never mind that natural chemicals in our foods are thousands of times more potent than additives, or that most Americans are healthier, live longer, and can choose from the most healthful food supply ever available.'; -- Frances M. Berg, M.S.

';Real detoxification of foreign substances takes place in the liver, which modifies their chemical structure so they can be excreted by the kidneys which filter them from the blood into the urine.'; --Stephen Barrett, M.D.

';Toxin'; is classic pseudoscience terminology. --Ben Goldacre, M.D.

';...these detox programs amount to a large quantity of excrement, both literally and figuratively.” --Peter Pressman, M.D.

I would highly recommend against doing an herbal supplement one with pills. I tried doing one at half dose, and it made me faint and very sick the next morning. However, because I fainted and hit my head a day after taking melatonin supplement one night, I think I may have what's in this link:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orthostatic… : low blood pressure tendencies. Herbal supplements in colon cleansers are known to be harsh. A vegan way would be best :)
Not to be funny but the easiest and cheapest way is to eat right and do an enema once every 3 or so months.

Don't start taking any pills (unless it's a normal multivitamin) or what not because you'll just kill a lot of good bacteria along with the bad bacteria in your body. Eating healthy, maybe soup base, or even fasting for 2-3 days will do wonders for you.
A colon cleanse does work and the body does get built-up waste - otherwise there would be no such thing as overweight (that excess weight IS waste). Anyway, did you consider the Master Cleanse? You can buy all the ingredients at your local market. You could also do a juice cleanse with fresh veggie and fruit juices and take a fiber once or twice a day. Here's a link that will give you things you can do at home.
My suggestion is that you don't waste your time and money on this quackery. Colon cleanses are a scam designed to take the money of the foolish.
Best site with great information - go to the link below.
Consider a coffee enema.
Vegan colon cleanse? this is a whole new world to me, what about just warm water?
Garden hose - just joking.
Go to your health food store and ask them to guide you they are very good
www.herbdoc.com is where you can buy a very effective bowel cleanser.
